I first started exercising in my 30ís to lose the post pregnancy weight that wanted to cling to me. As the benefits of increased energy and stamina became apparent, I was exercising regularly. The busy lifestyle of a growing family was very stressful, and exercise was my stress reducer. A trainer at the gym suggested I do some weight training to help with my posture and constant back aches. I loved it!! After a few months I stood taller and felt stronger and slept better. I started to study anatomy, took courses in personal training and in October 2003 I became certified as a Personal Trainer. I worked for Sports Clubs of Canada at their Valleywood club until it closed in 2006. The staff moved to the Northridge Club and in 2008 it became Goodlife. In 2004, I started taking Pilates classes. I found the exercises to really improve my flexibility and core strength. In 2005 I became a Pilates instructor and have been using Pilates exercises with my clients when appropriate. In January 2012, I left Goodlife and I have been doing in home training ever since.
